The community fridges were launched on January 11, 2020 by Law Minister, K Shanmugam. The initiative was organised by Free Food For All & Chong Pang CC Division and supported by Darul Makmur Mosque.

Residents can store excess or unsold food in the community fridges. The food can then be picked up by those who need it, thereby reducing wastage and helping those in need.

It is open 24 hours and is able to benefit approximately 200 households as the fridge is consistently stocking up 4 times a week.
